Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work on the JeevikaSetu Platform, operated by VariableWork Consulting Private Limited. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

How payment works (context). When a Setu Client confirms a booking, the job amount and our platform fee are collected upfront. The Setu Partner's share is held and released on job completion; our platform fee covers the technology and matching service.

1. Cancellation by a Setu Client

After acceptance, before the Setu Partner starts travelling / the scheduled timeJob amount refunded. A platform/convenience fee may be retained to cover matching costs.
After the Setu Partner has started travelling or arrivedA cancellation charge may apply to compensate the Setu Partner for time and travel. The balance is refunded.
Tatkal (instant) bookingsBecause Tatkal commits a Setu Partner immediately, cancellation after acceptance may attract the late-cancellation charge above.

2. Cancellation by a Setu Partner

If a Setu Partner cancels or does not show up, the Setu Client receives a full refund of the job amount, and we will help re-match the job where possible. Repeated cancellations affect a Setu Partner's Trust Score.

3. No-Show

  • Setu Partner no-show: full refund to the Setu Client.
  • Setu Client no-show (Setu Partner arrives, no one available / unsafe conditions): the Setu Partner may be compensated from the amount paid; the balance, if any, is refunded.

4. Service Not as Expected / Disputes

If a service is not delivered, is incomplete, or is materially not as agreed, raise it through the in-app dispute flow (or contact support) within 24 hours of the scheduled completion. We will review evidence from both sides and may issue a full or partial refund. Our platform fee is refunded where the failure is attributable to the Platform or to a Setu Partner no-show.

5. How and When Refunds Are Paid

  • Approved refunds are made to the original payment method.
  • Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of approval. The time for the amount to reflect in your account depends on your bank or payment provider.
  • Refunds for payments made via UPI, cards, net banking, or wallets are returned to the same source.

6. Non-Refundable Amounts

Except as stated above, the platform fee for a completed service is non-refundable, since the matching and technology service has been delivered.

7. Raising a Refund or Cancellation Request

  • In-app: Bookings → select the job → Cancel / Raise issue.
